Thompson could have been innocently tweeting purely about Henderson, of course, but, considering the recent Sterling drama, there's more than a hint of possibility he wasn't.
Those replying to him on Twitter certainly thought so - both Liverpool fans and some supporting Manchester United.
Indeed, there was plenty of tagging of Sterling's own Twitter handle, with many catching on to what they perceived as a reference to the 20-year-old's handling of his own future.
However many criticise Henderson, though, or scrutinise Liverpool for paying the 24-year-old such high wages, there is no doubt tying one of their biggest leaders down to a new contract is a huge plus for the club. It is just a shame, though, that it seems to have been done as a measure to counter the disappointment of the Reds being knocked out of the FA Cup...
