Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jermaine Jenas says that Gareth Bale is the best player that he played alongside during his time as a professional footballer.
Jenas, who hasn't officially retired but has been working as a pundit ever since his contract at Queens Park Rangers expired last summer, played with Bale for six years at White Hart Lane and he has praised his ability today.
He says that the Welsh winger was more talented than any other player he played alongside, while Manchester United legend Paul Scholes was the best player he played against.
The best player I player with was bale, but against was Scholes @turner1871— England (@england) April 23, 2015
It is hardly surprising that Jenas should pick Bale as the standout teammate during his career, but it is further recommendation of the 25-year-old's quality.
Bale has become one of the biggest stars in world football and his time at Tottenham was, for the most part, nothing short of sensational.
The former Southampton trainee developed from an exciting prospect to a elite-level star at White Hart Lane and his career has taken off following a slow start to life in north London.
Bale is currently plying his trade at Real Madrid, as the most expensive player of all time, and has made 87 appearances, scoring 39 times, for the Spanish giants.
