Rangers star Haris Vuckic has told the club's official website that he would love to finish the season as the club's top goalscorer.
Vuckic, 22, had struggled for first team football at Newcastle, and was subsequently loaned out to Rangers on deadline day in February along with four other Newcastle youngsters.
Whilst his four Magpies team mates have made little to no impact at Ibrox, Vuckic has become a fan favourite already, despite not even playing for the club for three months yet.
The Slovenian has smashed eight goals in just 14 appearances for Rangers, including a superb curling strike from long range against Dumbarton last weekend.
Seven of those goals have come in the league, which puts him just two goals behind top scorer Nicky Law - meaning Vuckic has a very realistic chance of finishing the season as Rangers' top goalscorer despite only signing in February.
Now, in an interview with the club's official website, Vuckic says that whilst finishing the season as Rangers' leading scorer isn't his priority, he would love to do it.
"That goal [against Dumbarton] gave me a massive boost and I just want to keep scoring and if I can keep doing that I will be very happy," said Vuckic. "If I can score a few more goals similar to the one against Dumbarton then that would be amazing."
"It's not my biggest aim to end the season as top scorer but as a striker you just want to score goals. If I can finish as top scorer, which would be hard, it would be a bonus for me but as long as the team is winning, then it doesn't matter who scores the goals," he added.
Rangers will be hoping that Vuckic continues his goalscoring form this weekend as they host Falkirk, and the Slovenian is Stuart McCall's main hope as Rangers challenge for promotion back to the top flight - though he will also know that for every goal he scores, more teams will be looking sign Vuckic from Newcastle this summer.
