The Norwegian would love to see the striker stay at the club.
The future of John Guidetti continues to be a topic of discussion for Celtic fans. The Swedish striker has been at the club on loan from Manchester City this season and has had a reasonably good season. He has scored 15 goals in 35 appearances for the club.
He is certainly a divisive player with some fans desperately wanting him permanently and others thinking he is not worth the hassle.
One man who does think the club should sign him however is Stefan Johansen. The Norwegian, who has been one of the best players at Celtic this season, and was speaking today after being nominated for the Scottish PFA Player of the Year award for the 2014-15 season.
He was quizzed on Guidetti, to which he replied:
SJ on @superguidetti "A top player and if he stays it would be a great signing for us." (MH)— Celtic Football Club (@celticfc) April 23, 2015
Guidetti is out of contract at Manchester City in the summer and would therefore be a free transfer if he arrived at Celtic, although his wages would be considerable.
Feyenoord are also confirmed as keen on his signature, although they are more cash-strapped than Celtic. Guidetti previously spent the 2011-12 season on loan at the Rotterdam club and scored 20 goals in 23 games in Holland.
