Arsenal and Liverpool fans react on Twitter to Geoffrey Kondogbia's performance

Arsenal and Liverpool linked midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia impressed for Monaco against Juventus.

Geoffrey Kondogbia's Monaco side were edged out by Juventus in the Champions League quarter-final last night.

The two sides drew 0-0 in the second leg, with Juventus winning 1-0 on aggregate.

Kondogbia was a key presence in midfield for the Ligue 1 side nonetheless, missing out on a battle against former French under-21 teammate Paul Pogba with the Juventus ace out injured.

The Monaco ace made five tackles and five interceptions, in each regard more than any of his midfield teammates.

He was coming off a superb pair of performances against Arsenal in the last 16, and his efforts had reportedly caught the attention of the Gunners, and their Premier League competitors Liverpool.

The Daily Mail reported information from French newspaper L'Equipe yesterday which declared the two sides were showing an interest in pursuing his signature this summer.

HITC reported comments last summer by Arsene Wenger regarding the Frenchman in Arsenal's matchday programme for the Emirates Cup, when he described Kondogbia as being just behind Paul Pogba, adding he was a 'very interesting' player.

He would be an ideal option for the Gunners to partner or alternate with Francis Coquelin in defensive midfield, while at Liverpool he could become a long-term replacement for Lucas Leiva.
