Sunderland defender Anthony Reveillere has told the Shields Gazette that his side are trying to eradicate the errors that they have been making.
Sunderland have been guilty of gifting the opposition goals on numerous occasions this season and Dick Advocaat has been working hard in training to ensure that his side are more reliable at the back.
Reveillere says that Sunderland know that this is an area they need to improve and the French defender insists that the entire squad have been working hard over their two-week break to rectify the problem.
“We’ve had a long break without playing since, but that’s football and we have to look towards the next match and fight for a good result," he said.
“We’ve been working hard to get rid of the errors and work better together. Now we have to take that into the next match."
Reveillere has actually been one of Sunderland's sturdier defenders, but even he cannot be completely blameless for their demise.
The Black Cats' squad have played well below their potential this term and it seems that they are beginning to realise the severity of their situation.
At the moment Sunderland are just one point above the drop zone and their need for wins is becoming urgent, with games running out.
It means that they can ill afford to make any more errors during matches and Dick Advocaat will be hoping that focusing on this area in training pays dividends over the rest of the season.
