Manchester United striker congratulated the Real Madrid loanee for his Champions League winner.
Manchester United loanee Javier Hernandez scored the winning goal for Real Madrid as they beat rivals Atletico Madrid in the Champions League quarter-finals.
The Mexican has had a difficult time on loan at Real, spending most of his season on the substitute's bench, but he made the most of his opportunity.
Set up by a dazzling run and perfect lay off from teammate Cristiano Ronaldo, Hernandez provided a poacher's finish to net the deciding goal in the 87th minute.
His strike caught the attention of former United strike partner Wayne Rooney, who sent him a message on Twitter after the goal went in.
Rooney was not the only one, with Michael Carrick hailing the striker's impact. Former teammate Edwin van der Sar also reached spoke of his joy for the 26-year-old, while injured Real Madrid star Gareth Bale also celebrated.

It is unclear what the future holds for Javier Hernandez, but he did his career no harm at all by proving he can deliver in such an important game, and may have an even more important role to play in Madrid's season yet.
