Veratti showing his class. The Camp Nou crowd applaud him, and rightly so. https://t.co/jJaA7DwoRv— Top Corner (@HITCtopcorner) April 21, 2015
The Daily Star and the Daily Express have both recently reported Arsenal’s interest in Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti and based on a Vine on part of his performance against Barcelona last night, it’s easy to see why.
PSG were well beaten over the two legs of the Champions League clash, but the young Italian left some of the best players in the world dazzled by his skill at one point in the match, which would have alerted Arsene Wenger if rumours of his interest are accurate.
Arsenal have arguably lacked an authoritative middle man who can sit in midfield and pull the strings setting up different attacks, but there would be questions over whether Verratti offers the side anything different in terms of attacking and creative skill than they already have.
The Express suggests that a fee of £40 million would be needed for Arsenal to secure their man on a long term deal and they have the resources needed to fund that transfer if Wenger makes it clear that he wants Verratti to become the next high profile midfielder to come in at the club.
