Tottenham Hotspur defender Kyle Walker has been ruled out of all action for at least the next four weeks.
“Following further examination and consultation, the club can confirm that Kyle Walker is expected to be sidelined for a further four weeks as he continues his recovery from a foot injury,” read the statement.
Walker suffered the injury during Tottenham’s goalless draw with Burnley away from home at Turf Moor in the Premier League earlier this month.
The England international subsequently missed Spurs’ 1-0 defeat to Tim Sherwood’s Aston Villa at White Hart Lane and the 3-1 victory over Newcastle United at St. James’ Park on Sunday.
It now appears that the 24-year-old right-back, who returned from a long-term injury spell only in December 2014, will miss majority of the remainder of the season.
The former Sheffield United defender has made 15 Premier League appearances for Mauricio Pochettino’s side so far this campaign, creating 11 chances in the process.
Walker has a pass accuracy of 80%, and has won 25 headers, 14 dribbles and 29 tackles.
Following the announcement of the news on Tuesday, Tottenham fans took to social networking site Twitter to have their say on Walker’s injury.
