Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has predicted on Sky Sports that Barcelona will win the Champions League this season.
The former France international striker wants to see Barca and Bayern Munich contest the final of Europe’s premier club competition this campaign.
“I will say Barca,” Henry told Sky Sports when asked who will win the Champions League this season. “Bayern-Barca final is what I want to see.”
When asked the same question, Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher said: “Bayern Munich”.
Champions League semi-finalists
Henry and Carragher made their comments following the conclusion of the Champions League semi-finals tonight.
While Bayern Munich and Barcelona booked their place in the last four of the competition on Tuesday, Real Madrid and Juventus ascertained their spots tonight.
Bayern, Barca and Madrid are the three best teams in the world, and it is no surprise to see them remain in contention of winning the prestigious competition.
Italian champions Juventus will probably raise some eyebrows among many football followers, but the fact is that they have some very good footballers, such as Arturo Vidal and Paul Pogba.
Henry is a former Barcelona player and he will certainly want them to win the Champions League final, but the chances of their bitter rivals Madrid cannot be written off.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side are aiming to become the first team in the Champions League era to win the the title in successive years, and the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and James Rodriguez will certainly be determined to make that happen.
