Sheffield Wednesday regular Jose Semedo sends rousing message to fans on Twitter

The Portuguese midfielder was thanking the club's fans on Twitter.

Sheffield Wednesday's season is now fizzling out to an uneventful end. The Owls currently sit in 12th place in The Championship, well off the play-offs but equally clear of the relegation places.

It has not been a season to get pulses racing, but it has been solid and Wednesday fans will now be looking to next season for a potential promotion chase.

One player who should be at the club next term is Jose Semedo. The Portuguese defender is a former Fans Player and Players Player of the Year at the club and is a highly popular member of the Wednesday first-team.

Today he has taken to Twitter to thank the fans that continue to support him and the club. The 30-year-old, who has played 31 times for the club this season, sent out this message to his followers on the social networking site:

Semedo signed for the club from Charlton Athletic in 2011 and has gone on to make over 130 appearances for the club - although he has only ever scored once.

A fan favourite, hopefully he will still be around at Hillsborough next term.
