Reported number one Nottingham Forest striker target Jordan Rhodes scores 19th goal of the season

Jordan Rhodes of Blackburn Rovers

The Blackburn Rovers striker is believed to be on the radar of Dougie Freedman this summer.

It was reported throughout yesterday that Nottingham Forest boss Dougie Freedman was all set to make another move for Blackburn Rovers striker Jordan Rhodes this summer.

The Forest head coach tried to sign him in March on a loan deal, but Blackburn rejected the deal.

Now the Daily Mail are reporting that the striker, who they value at £10 million, will be the main target of Freedman's advances once again this summer, despite the transfer embargo in place at the City Ground.

With Britt Assombalonga out of action until the new year Forest need a top striker in their hunt for an elusive return to the Premier League. Freedman clearly believes Rhodes is the man for the job.

Last night he showed once again just why he is indeed just that.

Blackburn took on Millwall last night in a Championship fixture. Rudy Gestede, who scored a hat-trick against Forest at the weekend got the ball rolling. Rhodes however hit the back of the net in the last minute.

It was his 19th goal of the season and Forest fans will indeed be hoping that he is on his way to the club in the summer, as much as it seems like a fairly ambitious idea.
