Liverpool have made contact with Borussia Dortmund over the availability of striker Ciro Immobile in the summer transfer window, according to Gianlucadimarzio.com.
It has been reported that the Premier League outfit have contacted Dortmund’s sporting director Michael Zorc.
Immobile will reportedly be a replacement for Italy international striker Mario Balotelli, who, according to the same report, “is set to leave Rodger's club”.
Immobile moved to former Bundesliga champions Dortmund from Italian club Torino in the summer of 2014.
The Italy international striker was expected to be a big hit in the Bundesliga for Jurgen Klopp’s side, but things have not exactly gone according to plan.
In 19 Bundesliga appearances so far this season, Immobile has managed to score just three goals, while creating three chances.
The former Juventus prospect has a pass accuracy of 65% and a shot accuracy of 62%, and he has won 22 headers, 18 dribbles and two tackles.
In six Champions League matches this campaign, the 25-year-old Immobile scored four goals and created four chances, while having a pass accuracy of 76% and a shot accuracy of 61%.
If Liverpool want to sell Balotelli and sign a replacement, then perhaps they should look at someone else.
