Yesterday saw Manchester United end any potential speculation over the future of Chris Smalling. The England international signed on the dotted line of a brand new deal at the club yesterday.

The defender will now remain at the club until 2019 and the deal is cetainly a reward for his excellent work in recent weeks.

Often lambasted in the past by fans of United and opposition alike he has been in great form in recent weeks, helping to guide United to an excellent recent run of form.

He arrived at the club from Fulham in 2010 and already has two Premier League titles under his belt at the club and will now hope to add some more under Louis van Gaal.

So what do you do the day after you are given a brand new mega-money contract at your top Premier League club?

Well you go to the beach of course.

Smalling celebrated receiving his new deal by heading to the sands with his pet dog, contemplating the next four years with Manchester United.

Not a bad turnaround for the player as he continues to defy his critics.
