Former Arsenal academy pals Nico Yennaris and Hector Bellerin remain in touch and have been catching up this week.
Not so long ago Yennaris was captaining Arsenal's under-21 side, while Bellerin was also working his way up and playing alongside him on occasion.
Bellerin has taken advantage of opportunities this season to establish himself as an important member of the first team squad, and is in with a chance of playing in the FA Cup Final.
Even if Mathieu Debuchy is selected instead, 2014/15 will go down as an outstanding season for the 20-year-old.
Yennaris turns 22 next month, and has had a mixed season at Brentford since signing for the club in January 2014 for a small fee.
The former England under-19 international made only one Championship appearance for Mark Warburton's side this season, which also includes Gunners loanee Jon Toral.
He was sent on loan to Wycombe Wanderers in February, and has played 12 times for the League Two side, making one assist.
Bellerin may have the right-back spot he always coveted, but Yennaris is clearly pleased for the ex-Barcelona ace, and if he learn from his experience on loan, he could yet bounce back and get his career moving in an upwards trajectory again.
