Leeds United defender Giuseppe Bellusci is set to miss the rest of the season with injury.
Leeds United defender Giuseppe Bellusci will miss the rest of the season through injury, according to a report on the club's official site.
Bellusci was part of the 'injured six' who pulled out of Leeds' game against Charlton Athletic last weekend in suspicious circumstances, but it appears that his injury is more severe than first thought.
The reasons behind the six players withdrawing from the match have been heavily questioned, but Bellusci's injury does appear genuine.
The Italian defender has had an MRI Scan and the results have shown a problem which will keep him out until the end of the season.
That may have been the case even if he was fit, as Neil Redfearn had intended to leave on six players in the background after being furious at their actions, according to a report in the Daily Star.
It may also be a good thing for Bellusci, as he has had to face a backlash from the supporters on social media site Twitter.
There were concerns that this bad feeling would be vocalised at the next home game, but it seems that Bellusci won't be hearing it.
He may still have to win the Whites supporters over when he does return, though, as the reaction to his injury news has hardly been a positive one.
Really hope that's the last we see of Bellusci.— Guysley (@Guysley_) April 22, 2015

Maybe Bellusci can spend part of his bonus on growing a set of kahunas while he gets his MRI #lufc— Andrew Dickinson (@Andrewerd) April 22, 2015
Of course Bellusci is having an MRI the day after the chairman said he had a hamstring problem even though he was fine on Thursday.... #lufc— ET (@EastStandUpper) April 22, 2015
Bellusci accidentally, brutally, slipped over his own ego and hurt his back. #lufc— Ian McMullen (@cadillacjukebox) April 22, 2015
