Cristiano Ronaldo has taken to social networking site Twitter to urge the Real Madrid fans to give their full support on Wednesday.
Spanish giants Madrid will be looking to progress to the semi-finals of the Champions League at the expense of city-rivals Atletico Madrid at home.
Having drawn the first leg of the quarter-final tie 0-0 at the Vicente Calderon last week, Carlo Ancelotti’s side will progress to the last four with a 1-0 win at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Former Manchester United star Ronaldo has urged the home crowd to be in loud voice and cheer the players against the defending Spanish champions.
Tomorrow is decisive and your support is essential for the triumph! Hala Madrid! ... http://t.co/MEcbXouEza— Cristiano Ronaldo (@Cristiano) April 21, 2015
Madrid forward Ronaldo has been booed by the home fans on occasions this season, and hopefully his Tweet ahead of a key game of the season will drive the message home.
While showing frustrations at the team’s lack of positive results is understandable, against Atletico, the Madrid supporters have to give their full backing to the players throughout the 90 minutes (and beyond).
Los Blancos will head into the game on the back of a 3-1 victory over Malaga at the Bernabeu. Madrid are looking to becoming the first team in the Champions League era to win the title in successive years.
