Match preview and predicted line-ups: Dundee v Celtic

Celtic can extend their lead at the top of the table to eight points with a win at Dens Park tonight.

Game to be played on Wednesday 22nd April 2015 at 19:45. Venue: Dens Park, Dundee.

Odds: Dundee 10/1, draw 9/2, Celtic 1/4

Three players return to the Celtic squad following Sunday’s controversial Scottish FA Cup exit for the Bhoys.

Anthony Stokes missed the game through suspension whilst Gary Mackay-Steven and Stuart Armstrong were cup-tied for the game, but all three return on Wednesday night.

Kris Commons is expected to be fit after coming off during Sunday’s defeat with a foot injury, but Ronny Deila may opt to leave him on the bench in place of one of the returning ex-Dundee United pair.

Charlie Mulgrew has trained for over a week after recovering from a hamstring tendon injury but still faces a further couple of weeks on the sideline until he is cleared to play.

Paul Hartley faces his own injury concerns as a shin injury for Gary Harkins and a hamstring problem for Luka Tankulic sees the pair face late fitness tests before the game.

Paul McGowan also misses the game due to the curfew set on him for his conviction for assaulting a police officer. Hartley has decided on a settled starting line-up in the last four games with the only changes coming up front, but McGowan’s absence will force a change in midfield.

A win at Dens Park would restore the Hoops' lead at the top to eight points, and go some way to showing they have recovered from a difficult game on Sunday where refereeing decisions cost them the game.

Hartley’s team has performed admirably this season, with a comfortable mid-table finish a good season's work considering they were only promoted last campaign.

A part of this solid season has been their home form, with the Dark Blues not losing in any of their last seven home games, but that record will come under serious threat against the Bhoys, a team they don’t often get points from.

Dundee have failed to win any of their 18 matches against Celtic, getting only three draws in the process, one of which came at the start of this season.

Predicted Dundee line-up:

Bain, Dyer, Konrad, McGinn, Davidson, Ferry, Harris, McAlister, McGinn, Stewart, Heffernan

Predicted Celtic line-up:

Gordon, Matthews, Denayer, van Dijk, Izaguirre, Brown, Biton, Forrest, Johansen, Mackay-Steven, Griffiths
