Aston Villa midfielder Tom Cleverley has told the club's official site that Fabian Delph and Christian Benteke both deserve to be playing in the FA Cup Final because of their efforts this season.
Delph and Benteke have been two of Villa's main players throughout the campaign so far and Cleverley believes that the duo deserve a big stage to showcase their ability.
The Manchester United loanee says that Benteke's continued improvement under Tim Sherwood has made him pivotal, while Delph's consistency over the course of the campaign makes him a key star for the side.
"Christian has been fantastic for us in recent weeks - he goes from strength to strength," he said.
"Fabian was brilliant as well. He's been a fantastic performer for us, very consistent throughout the season. Both thoroughly deserve this moment."
Benteke and Delph are both amongst the most talented players in Villa's squad, but they have improved considerably under Tim Sherwood's guidance.
Sherwood has given both more licence to show their attacking talents and the whole side have benefitted from it.
Benteke and Delph were Villa's goalscorers as they beat Liverpool 2-1 in the FA Cup semi-final and it was an example of the quality that they both have.
Villa will likely face a fight to keep the duo this summer, but if they can they are two players Sherwood can start to build his side around, as he looks to deliver more success next season.
