Leeds United's youngsters won 4-1 on Monday and one of their players took to social media after the match.
Leeds United’s young side made an emphatic statement to senior manager Neil Redfearn on Monday, as they defeated their Huddersfield counterparts 4-1.
There were a number of incidents of note, including the return from injury of Aidy White and a fine goal from Luke Parkin, but it was hat-trick hero Brian Montenegro who stole the headlines and he may get more minutes for the first-team as a result.
That said, plenty of other youngsters will be hoping to catch the manager’s eye in what remains of this campaign and then in pre-season, including defender Ross Killock.
The 20-year-old took to Twitter shortly after the match to express his delight at a job well done.
“Great performance from the lads and a 4-1 win,” Killock wrote, and having been involved in the pre-season travelling parties for the last two summers, he will surely be hoping to take another step towards a first-team spot in the months ahead.
A versatile player who is predominantly a centre-back but can also operate as a right-back or in central midfield, it surely cannot be too long before Redfearn gives him a chance.
