According to Tutto Mercato Web, Arsenal are vying with Tottenham for the signature of River Plate defender Emanuel Mammana.
Mammana, 19, is a product of the River Plate academy which has also brought through the likes of Pablo Aimar, Hernan Crespo, Martin Demichelis, Javier Mascherano, Gonzalo Higuain and Erik Lamela over the years.
Now, it's Mammana who is grabbing the headlines, with the teenager centre back already having one Argentina cap to his name - which just goes to show how highly rated he is in Buenos Aires.
As with all those players mentioned previously, the natural move for South American youngsters is to head to Europe to further their careers - and Mammana could be the latest to join that long list.
Tutto Mercato Web believe that Atletico Madrid - managed by Argentine Diego Simeone - are interested in Mammana, whilst there could also be a battle from Arsenal and Tottenham for his signature too.
Spurs are also managed by an Argentine in Mauricio Pochettino, and it's likely that he will be keeping a close eye on up-and-coming prospects in his homeland ahead of the summer transfer window.
Yet now, those hopes of signing him may have been dealt a minor blow after Arsenal allegedly joined the race for Mammana, with Arsene Wenger no doubt keen to add a young defender to mould behind Laurent Koscielny, Per Mertesacker and Gabriel Paulista.
After something of a breakout season, Mammana may be in demand this summer - and the two North London rivals could go head to head in the race to sign him.
