Tottenham Hotspur have announced on their official website today that Kyle Walker will be out of action for at least four more weeks.
The England international recently suffered a foot injury, and it seems that he will take more time than expected to recover from it.
“Following further examination and consultation, the club can confirm that Kyle Walker is expected to be sidelined for a further four weeks as he continues his recovery from a foot injury,” reads a statement on Tottenham’s official website.
“The England international was forced off with the injury during our Premier League match against Burnley earlier this month and will continue to have his progress monitored by our medical staff.”
This will come as a big blow to Walker, who has suffered serious injuries over the past year or so.
The 24-year-old returned to competitive action in December, and just when it seemed that he was getting back to his best, here comes another blow.
Walker has been able to make 15 appearances in the Premier League so far this season, creating 11 chances in the process.
Tottenham are currently sixth in the Premier League table with 57 points from 33 matches, seven points behind fourth-placed and defending English champions Manchester City.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side will return to league action on Saturday when they take on Southampton away from home at St. Mary’s Stadium.
