Former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez remains on course to winning the Champions League with Barcelona this season.

Former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has taken to social networking site Twitter to revel in Barcelona’s progress to the semi-finals of the Champions League this season.

Spanish giants Barcelona secured their place in the last four of Europe’s premier club competition with a 5-1 aggregate victory over Ligue 1 outfit Paris Saint-Germain in the quarter-finals.

Having won the first leg of the tie 3-1 in Paris last week, the Catalan giants defeated PSG 2-0 at Camp Nou this evening.

Brazil international forward Neymar scored both the goals, and Suarez, who played for 75 minutes, was delighted with his team’s progress.

Following the match, the Uruguay international posted the following message on Twitter, which when translated reads: “Let’s go!! One more step to reaching the objective!!! Great game and we are in the semis!!!!”

Suarez has been a big player for Barcelona in the last few months, having initially struggled to make a huge impact in Spain.

In 23 La Liga appearances for Barca so far this season, the 28-year-old has scored 11 goals and created 45 chances, while having a pass accuracy of 77% and a shot accuracy of 51%.

In seven Champions League matches for the Blaugrana, the former Liverpool star has scored six goals and created five chances, while having a pass accuracy of 75% and a shot accuracy of 67%.
