Tim Sherwood has told the Daily Mail that he knew all about Jack Grealish's talents before he was even at Aston Villa.
Grealish has emerged as one of the brightest prospects in Villa's team and Sherwood has suggested that he was already on his radar before he was at Villa Park.
The former Tottenham Hotspur manager says that he had looked at Grealish previously in his career, having been impressed by the youngster's talents.
"Jack’s someone I looked at before I was at the club," Sherwood revealed. "I’ve seen him in training, if you give him an instruction he sticks to the plan. He’s got a big future at the football club."
There is great excitement about Grealish's future, but Sherwood still deserves credit for showing faith in the 19-year-old.
Paul Lambert had seemed reluctant to use the trickster, but Sherwood has made him a major part of his starting line-up and been rewarded for his faith.
Grealish's creativity has provided Villa with a new threat and he was in brilliant form during the FA Cup semi-final against Liverpool at the weekend, which the Claret and Blues won 2-1.
It was a performance which highlighted just how much Villa have improved under Sherwood, and the side will be hoping to continue to impress, with their Premier League status now looking secure.
