Report: Tottenham scouts attend Champions League clash; strike target identified?

Tottenham Hotspur had scouts at Porto's match against Bayern Munich in the Champions League last week, it is being reported.

According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur had scouts at Porto's Champions League match with Bayern Munich last week.

Porto won the encounter 3-1, with a performance which showed the quality they had in their ranks, and Spurs' scouts would have been sure have reported back positively about the Portuguese side's players.

Tottenham are expected to be active in the upcoming transfer window and it is said that Jackson Martinez is on their radar, by the Daily Star.

The Colombian striker has been a regular scorer for Porto over recent seasons and Mauricio Pochettino reportedly wants to bring him to White Hart Lane this summer.

Although it is all conjecture at this current stage, Tottenham scouts being in attendance at Porto's match with Bayern does add some credence to the rumours.

If Spurs did manage to land Martinez it would be a signal of their intentions and show that the club are determined to make it into the top four next season.

The rapid front man scored Porto's third goal against Bayern and he looks to have the ability to increase Tottenham's attacking threat considerably.

Blessed with pace, power and a deadly finish, he is one of Europe's top marksmen and if Spurs were able to sign him it would be quite a coup for the London club.
