The 22-year-old winger was linked with Premier League Spurs last week, according to Mercato365, and TMW are now reporting that an asking price has been set on the Marseille man, who has netted five goals and registered three assists for Marcelo Bielsa’s men.
The report claims that Thauvin is just one of three OM players that Spurs are supposedly keen on signing, along with Ghanian international Andre Ayew, and prolific forward Andre-Pierre Gignac.
All three would improve Spurs’ squad under Mauricio Pochettino, and it is clear he is targeting players who will know how to work under his system, with all three Marseille men under Bielsa.
Thauvin originally signed for OM in 2013, moving from Lille after just a few months, having yet to appear. He has never truly set the world alight following his arrival at the Stade Velodrome, but Tottenham’s interest appears to be concrete.
It is so concrete, in fact, that TMW have reportedly discovered that OM would be willing to part with Thauvin for a £10 million fee, leading Spurs to start formalising their interest.
There is no update on the futures of Ayew and Gignac, although they are both out-of-contract in the summer, meaning any interested party would not have to formalise an offer to Marseille, and this will likely lead to offers being held off until the end of the campaign.
