Jamie Redknapp has compared young Aston Villa teammate Jack Grealish to Steve McManaman, speaking to The Mail.
The teenager impressed during the club's FA Cup semi-final win over Liverpool, and has made the most of first team chances given to him by new boss Tim Sherwood.
Redknapp played alongside McManaman at Liverpool, and believes the two have similar traits.
He said: "As for Grealish, for a young man to play like that on his first visit to Wembley was magnificen
"He is quick but has a languid style, like Steve McManaman. When he drops his shoulder he sends defenders so far the other way they almost have to pay to get back in."
McManaman left Liverpool to sign with Real Madrid, where he went onto become a Champions League winner. This is clearly success Grealish would be more than comfortable with later in his career.
At present, and hopefully long-term, Grealish will continue to mature into a big Aston Villa success. How he deals with the plaudits and recent attention will be a big test for him, and it will only get more pronounced if he scores in the final against Arsenal on May 30.
He will also have to learn to cope with an eventual dip in form and the challenges that can pose, but looking at how he has turned around Christian Benteke's performances, Tim Sherwood may be just the right manager to help Grealish out in such a scenario.
