“I don't have any reason not be at Chelsea,” the 21-year-old revealed. “It is my dream to put on that blue shirt and play for them eventually. I just have to stick with it, be patient and hopefully my rewards will come”
Judging by this season, it is hard to deny that Bamford deserves a chance at Stamford Bridge next term. He was named Championship Player of the Year for his impressive campaign on loan at promotion chasing Middlesbrough, but it is not just his 19 goals that have done much for his reputation.
Able to lead the line, or play in one of the three attacking midfield roles, it is more his creativity and movement which has won many plaudits, and led to all the goalscoring chances that he has put away.
He has a prolific goal record, but even when not scoring he is having an influence upon games that makes him look like he could really become a top level striker.
It could prove to be extremely hard for Bamford to work his way into the Blues first-team, but at the age of 21 he still has plenty of years ahead of him. Thankfully, he seems well aware that he has a battle ahead of him to play for Chelsea, and he has already shown in his short career that he possesses a great drive and desire to always improve.
His immediate future may reside away from Stamford Bridge, but many certainly believe, including Bamford himself, that he has enough quality to make it in West London.
