A selection of the latest stories in the media involving Tottenham Hotspur this Monday evening.
Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen has spoken of his delight at reaching a goalscoring milestone this season during a 3-1 win over Newcastle United yesterday.
The result means that Tottenham leap-frogged Southampton in the Premier League, moving up to sixth place and are now level on points with fifth-placed Liverpool having played a game more.
The goal means Eriksen has managed to hit double figures for the second consecutive season since his arrival at the club at the start of last season.
The Dane could be regarded as fortunate to have got on the scoresheet in the way he did as his speculative free-kick went straight in without a touch from anyone in the process.
He told the club's website: "I just crossed it and luckily it went in. I’m pleased to score and happy that I’ve finally got to 10 goals.
“It’s been coming for a couple of months so I’m pleased to have finally got to that mark."
Eriksen also said he was pleased the side got back to winning ways following the recent encounters against Burnley and Aston Villa, which resulted in a huge setback in the side's pursuit of Champions League football. A place in Europe's biggest club competition still looks unlikely despite the win as they sit seven points behind Manchester City who currently occupy fourth place.
He added: “Overall, everyone is very happy to get back to winning ways – it gives us more confidence.”
