Rangers have been handed a boost as Newcastle loan duo Kevin Mbabu and Shane Ferguson are both in the Under-20 squad as they take on Celtic this evening.
With Rangers bidding for promotion to the Scottish Premiership and Celtic moving ever closer to winning that title, the two sides face each other in a development match tonight.
Celtic's side mostly contains youngsters, with January signing Michael Duffy the biggest name in the side - but Rangers have used the game to give fitness to fringe players.
The likes of Fraser Aird and David Templeton start, but the biggest news is that Mbabu and Ferguson are also in the starting line-up.
Mbabu, a Swiss defender and Northern Ireland international Ferguson both joined Rangers from Newcastle in February, penning loan deals until the end of the season.
However, neither have been fit enough to play so far, and are still waiting for their debuts under new manager Stuart McCall.
Now, with Rangers entering the final crucial weeks of the season, both Mbabu and Ferguson could play big parts in the side ahead of the play-offs.
That's a huge boost for McCall, with both players capable of making an impact - though much will depend on how they come through this evening's match against Celtic.
