Here is the Leeds United under-21 side to play Huddersfield this afternoon.
Leeds United under-21s: Cairns, Coyle, Killock, Skelton, Denton, Phillips, Dawson, White, Walters, Parkin, Montenegro
Subs: Grimes, Booker, Vann, Lyman, Mulhern
Leeds United’s under-21 side will be determined to have a positive impact in their game against Huddersfield this afternoon, with some very good players looking to make an impression at the club.
The strength of the Leeds academy system has been well documented and there are several examples of players who can act as inspiration for the next generation of youth team stars who are all looking to get game time under Neil Redfearn before the end of the season.
Leeds currently sit third in the Northern section of the under-21 Professional Development League, with Huddersfield just ahead of them in the table. Huddersfield have the edge over Leeds in terms of attack this season having scored two goals more, but the Yorkshire base club have the better defensive record.
Redfearn is likely to have one eye on proceedings due to his history with the club’s academy system and with only two games to go in the season for the first team, he may be looking for a player to take a risk with.
