One of Celtic's most exciting young prospects played against Ronny Deila's former side this weekend.
Celtic midfielder Liam Henderson played in a match that would have been of particular interest to Bhoys boss Ronny Deila at the weekend.
Prior to taking charge at Celtic Park, Deila was manager of Norwegian club Stromsgodset, and it was that club Henderson came up against for his loan side Rosenborg on Saturday.
The 18-year-old midfielder completed a surprise loan move to Norway earlier this month, but despite featuring 22 times for Celtic to date, he has been used sparingly by Rosenborg.
After sitting out the 5-0 win against Aalesunds FK, Henderson came on as a late substitute the following week against FK Haugesund, helping his side to a 6-0 victory.
Rosenborg could not continue their outstanding start to the season against Deila’s former club though, drawing 1-1 with Henderson getting 15 minutes on the field.
It remains to be seen how beneficial the Celtic teenager’s loan move will be, given that for now he is barely being used.
But there can be no harm in experiencing a different footballing culture and it could yet be the making of a player who has all the attributes to be a future star for the Bhoys.
