Arsenal want Jurgen Klopp to replace Arsene Wenger - German media

Kicker have ran a story stating that the Borussia Dortmund supremo could be heading to North London.

Arsenal’s fortunes have turned around dramatically in recent months, with Arsene Wenger leading the North London club to second in the Premier League table and through to the FA Cup final.

As such, calls for the Frenchman to stand down from the Emirates Stadium outfit have reduced, with the long-serving manager showing that he still has what it takes to have Arsenal competing.

However, a report in Kicker today states that the powers that be at the Gunners are seriously considering replacing Wenger with Jurgen Klopp this summer.

The vastly successful Borussia Dortmund coach has announced that he will step down from the Bundesliga club at the end of the season and is eyeing up a new job.

Klopp seems like a natural candidate to replace Wenger in the long run, but just whether or not now is the time to do so remains to be seen.

The German boss took over at Dortmund with the club floundering and led them to two Bundesliga titles and through to the Champions League final.

The report also states that Wenger would stay at Arsenal in some capacity, but Klopp would be instated as the head coach ahead of next season.

Given that the Gunners will have to find a replacement for Wenger at some point, if they decide that Klopp is the man to do so then now is seemingly an ideal time to act.
