According to a report in the Mirror, Real Madrid are willing to consider bids for Spanish sensation Isco this summer as Los Blancos eye replacements on the continent.
The Spanish international joined the La Liga giants from Malaga in 2013 and quickly established himself as his country’s Golden Boy alongside Atletico Madrid ace Koke.
However, the 22-year-old has slipped down the Madrid pecking order in recent months and following just 22 La Liga starts this season his future has been the subject of much speculation.
A number of Premier League clubs such as Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool have been linked with him in the past, as per the Mirror, and an astonishing deal this summer may now be a realistic possibility.
“Arsenal and Manchester City have been put on alert by the news that Real Madrid will consider offers for Spanish sensation Isco this summer,” the report states.
As per the report, Isco is allegedly valued at around the £35 million mark and his availability could depend on whether reported targets Paul Pogba and Marco Veratti head to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer.
The former Malaga man can be described as a technically gifted playmaker, capable of creating chances for the strikers via intricate passing as well as providing a genuine goal threat.
It’s unlikely that we will see the Gunners attempt to sign him this summer due to their vast strength in depth in the attacking areas with the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Aaron Ramsey and Mesut Ozil occupying similar roles.
City, however, are in need of a shake-up this summer and a genuine world class attacking midfielder alongside David Slva is a must-buy for the owners at the Etihad stadium.
Isco has found the net on three occasions in La Liga this season, though with eight assists from just 22 starts he is among Madrid’s most creative players.
