Rangers fans couldn't contain their excitement over teenage forward Ryan Hardie.

Rangers moved four points clear of third placed Hibernian after a 3-1 win away at Dumbarton on Saturday afternoon, with Ryan Hardie stealing the show.

Mark Wilson gave Dumbarton a shock early lead, only for Hardie to notch a brace on his first start for Rangers, before Haris Vuckic wrapped the game up with the third.

Hardie, 18, has been prolific for Rangers' Under-20 side this season, and was thrown in from the start at Dumbarton alongside Nicky Clark in attack.

Manager Stuart McCall has faith in the club's youth products, and with Andy Murdoch and Tom Walsh also in the side, the team certainly had a youthful feel to it.

It was striker Hardie who took all the plaudits though, making an instant impression with two goals to tighten Rangers' grip on second place in the Scottish Championship.

Rangers fans haven't had a great deal to shout about in recent times, but they couldn't hold back their excitement on Twitter after the game, with many falling over themselves to praise Hardie.

Some joked that he was even better than Manchester United striker Radamel Falcao, whilst other noted that he should have been in the first team some time ago - but previous manager Ally McCoist wasn't prepared to do what McCall has and put his trust in teenagers.

Here are some of the reactions from Rangers fans on Twitter after Hardie's performance against Dumbarton on Saturday...
