Manchester United failed to maintain their winning run as they went down 1-0 to Chelsea away from home in the Premier League on Saturday.
The Red Devils headed into the encounter at Stamford Bridge in London on the back of a 4-2 victory over Manchester City in the Manchester derby at Old Trafford.
It was not expected to be easy for United at Chelsea, and it proved to be so, as Louis van Gaal’s side went down 1-0.
Belgium international winger Eden Hazard’s goal in the 38th minute proved to be the difference between the two sides at the Bridge.
Over the course of the 90 minutes, United had 70% of the possession, took 15 shots of which only two were on target, and earned seven corners.
In contrast, Chelsea had 30% of the possession, took seven shots of which two were on target, and earned three corners.
United are now third in the Premier League table with 65 points from 33 matches, 11 points behind leaders Chelsea, who have a game in hand.
