The misery continued for West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce on Sunday afternoon. There was no mercy for the 60-year-old at the Etihad Stadium, as Manuel Pellegrini was given some respite after his Manchester City side won 2-0.
This was a vibrant and dynamic performance that City hadn't shown for a while - but more of the same from West Ham.
So impressed was former Manchester City midfielder Trevor Sinclair with their display that he was convinced it was proof the players are right behind boss Pellegrini.
At the same time, ex-Manchester City striker Rodney Marsh was convinced West Ham's stars are already 'on the beach' so bad were their collective performances.
And the two players City fans were most impressed with on Twitter made a welcome change. Indeed, Jesus Navas and Eliaquim Mangala - both widely criticised this season - came up trumps against West Ham.
Having decided to turn up v the Hammers for a change, many supporters picked Navas as their man of the match (he won the official award) while others argued it should have been Mangala. Many couldn't pick between them, meanwhile, as the Manchester City duo impressed against West Ham.
Here's a selection of what City fans are saying on Twitter!
