Crystal Palace fans had plenty to be disappointed about on Saturday afternoon. Losing to your former manager is never good for your pride and the Eagles' weak surrender to West Brom may have raised an eyebrow or two.
Supporters aren't too concerned when it comes to the long term, however, with the 2-0 defeat at Selhurst Park being seen as somewhat of a one-off considering Alan Pardew's superb success since moving to Palace.
So, while Glenn Murray had an off day and Jason Puncheon was caught out for West Brom's goal, this one will likely be swept under the carpet - especially considering the fact Crystal Palace are a full six points clear of Tony Pulis's side even after losing to them.
And there was also a major positive the Palace faithful were able to take from the game despite the West Brom defeat.
Indeed, Pape Souare's introduction at half-time in place of Joe Ledley got Crystal Palace fans talking on Twitter. Not because he was a disappointment like many of his team-mates on the day but because he delivered what many thought was his best performance for the Eagles to date.
Here, then, is what Palace supporters made of Souare's display against West Brom:
Souare can half put a ball in the box ! On another day muzza would of buried them ! #cpfc— Andy David Latter (@andylatts) April 18, 2015
I think souare will go on to be a top LB at #cpfc and I've thought it from day one , not just after today's performance.— Scotty W (@Scottyw_10) April 18, 2015
Disappointing result today and some mixed performances but very encouraged by Souaré. Best game yet in a Palace shirt. #CPFC— HoggGoblin (@HoggGoblin) April 18, 2015
Murray had an off day, Bolasie had a great game minus a few slips, and souare played the best I've seen him play #cpfc— Ben Weller (@Wellerboi) April 18, 2015
On the plus side pleased for Pape Souare...good performance today, hasn't had a lot of luck since he arrived #cpfc— Chris Allen (@chrisofeagles) April 18, 2015
Souare was great, why didn't he start ahead of an out of position Ledley? #cpfc— James Tombs (@jtombs) April 18, 2015
Actually think we played ok.. Only frustrating thing was the lack of tempo in our passing.. Souare was outstanding 2nd half #cpfc— Buffalo Custardbath (@cb1ishere) April 18, 2015
