The Newcastle United youngster and Leeds star praised the 18-year-old on Twitter.
There have been few positives for Leeds United this season. At the same time, however, there have been few bigger positives than Lewis Cook at Elland Road this term.
The 18-year-old has been a shining light during a turbulent (to put it mildly) Leeds campaign and has shown a maturity no teenager should really be expected to show.
Last night, meanwhile, Cook got due reward for a superb season for the Yorkshire side by way of the Young Apprentice of the Year award for the Championship.
It is nothing less than the midfielder, who has been sorely missed by the Leeds senior side due to his recent injury troubles, deserves. And he was congratulated by team-mates and players from other teams alike.
Congrats @lewiscook_ on your award! More than deserved!— charlie taylor (@charlietaylor09) April 19, 2015
Delighted to win the Championship apprentice of the year award, thanks to the club and all the support from everyone!— Lewis Cook (@lewiscook_) April 19, 2015
Armstrong can relate to chaos at a club at the moment, of course, with his Newcastle side in terrible form and witnessing heavy friction between their support and ownership.
The Magpies forward is still a bright light amid a sea of turbulence at Newcastle, though, just like Cook at Leeds.
