A strange coincidence with Steve Morison and two terrible former Leeds flops

Former Leeds loanee Habib Habibou made an impact in France's Ligue 1.

Steve Morison broke his duck for Leeds United at the weekend, as another player who briefly wore the White shirt also achieved a milestone.

On the same day Morison scored his very first goal of the season, former Leeds attacker Habib Habibou netted his first in 2015.

Habibou's goal was an important one, coming off the bench for Rennes to score an equaliser against AS Monaco in a Ligue 1 clash which finished 1-1.

Habibou spent time on loan at Leeds in 2013 but did not score a single goal, and is frequently described by fans as one of the club's worst additions in recent years, and there have been a few.

Unlike Morison though it was not his first of the season, just in this calendar year.

He had three previous goals to his name but none since October.

Habibou was not the only former disappointing former Leeds forward to find the net on the same day as Morison.

Carlisle United striker Billy Paynter scored his first goal of the season in his 18th appearance to help them to a 2-0 win over Plymouth in League Two.

Paynter scored just three goals in 28 games for Leeds between 2010 and 2011.

Perhaps there was something in the air on Saturday.
