308-game former Aston Villa hero Lee Hendrie wishes team luck at Wembley

The former Villa midfielder will be in attendance this afternoon.

Aston Villa take on Liverpool this afternoon in the second FA Cup semi-final at Wembley, to see who will face Arsenal in the final next month.

Arsenal sent Reading packing yesterday with a 2-1 win after extra time at Wembley and Villa will be hoping to defeat the favourites Liverpool today to book their place in the final.

One man who has now been wishing them luck is a former Aston Villa hero.

Lee Hendrie came through the ranks at Aston Villa as a youngster and went on to play over 300 games for the club before leaving to join Sheffield United in 2007.

He went on to have a journeyman career, including a brief stint in Indonesia, as injuries and off-field problems dogged the latter stages of his career.

He however remains a massive fan of Villa and was on Twitter earlier, wishing his team all the best against their opponents later today.

Here is the Tweet in question:

Villa will now be hoping to make the likes of Hendrie and every other Villa fan across the country proud this afternoon.
