It was a massive win. As West Brom left Tony Pulis's former home stadium at Selhurst Park, the players knew it.
Yet it was Pulis's men who celebrated all three points after a 2-0 win at Palace, with the Eagles stung mid-flight by a typically determined Pulis side.
West Brom's win leaves them on 36 points. They are not mathematically safe yet but, considering Leicester City's recent resurgence, every victory is huge at this point.
No wonder goalscorer Craig Gardner was 'buzzing' on Twitter after the win:
What a result today buzzing we got the 3 points the fans were top class again #BoingBoing— Craig Gardner (@CraigGards8) April 18, 2015
Striker Brown Ideye, meanwhile, hailed a 'massive' three points and praised West Brom's 'wonderful performance' against Crystal Palace.
Liverpool are up next for West Brom at home but the Baggies will be high in confidence after beating Palace.
Crystal Palace themselves have Hull City next in the Premier League. Hopefully they won't be haunted by the triumphant return of their former manager.
