Former Arsenal ace Benik Afobe netted his 31st goal of the campaign as Wolves only managed a 1-1 draw at home to fellow play-off contenders Ipswich Town.
The talented striker had been part of the youth set-up with the Gunners since an early age, taking in several loan spells while progressing through the system, with another arranged with MK Dons prior to the 2014/15 campaign getting underway.
While with the League One outfit, Afobe began banging the goals in on a regular basis and even netted twice during the Dons’ famous 4-0 win over Manchester United in the League Cup.
Following his goal scoring exploits, interest in his services mounted steadily and after it became evidently clear that future opportunities at the Emirates would be limited due to such heavy competition for places, he joined Wolves on a permanent deal in January.
The Molineux outfit were some way short of the play-offs when Afobe signed, but his dream of a Premier League reunion with the Gunners grew into a reality as he continued his fine scoring form.

His goals took him beyond Harry Kane as England’s outright top goal scorer last week, and he followed up with another strike in the crunch clash with Ipswich Town this weekend.
In an otherwise fairly quiet performance, the England U21 international netted a second-half equaliser which now leaves Wolves’ Championship play-off bid hanging in the balance.
Kenny Jackett’s side ideally needed to win this match, as with just two game remaining they remain three points adrift of both Ipswich and Derby County who occupy the final two play-off spots.
