Tony Cottee picks his Premier League bottom three

Sky Sports pundit Tony Cottee predicts Sunderland, Queens Park Rangers and Burnley to finish in the bottom three of the Premier League this season.

Tony Cottee has told Sky Sports that Sunderland, Queens Park Rangers and Burnley will get relegated from the Premier League at the end of the season.

The former West Ham United and Everton striker made his prediction during The Morning View show on Thursday.

“I think Leicester might get out of it,” said Cottee. “Sunderland have got the hardest fixtures, so I am going to go with Sunderland, QPR and Burnley to go down.”

Most Premier League football followers will agree with Cottee’s prediction. While Burnley and QPR are currently the bottom two sides in the Premier League table, Sunderland are just three points above the relegation zone at the moment.

No one should be surprised if Burnley and QPR do go down. While the former are arguably the weakest team in the Premier League, the latter have struggled for points away from home all season.

Sunderland, though, should have done much better than they have so far this campaign. Although the Black Cats were expected to struggle for survival, the way they have collapsed at home on occasions has been astonishing.

Dick Advocaat’s side will face Arsenal and Chelsea in their final two Premier League games of the season. Prior to that, Sunderland will have to confront Stoke City, Southampton, Everton and Leicester City.

Things are looking bleak for Sunderland.
