This is PL’s best playmaker in 2015: better than Arsenal ace and Hazard

David Silva

Manchester City’s David Silva has created more chances than Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool’s top playmakers.

Manchester City may have hit the rocks over the past couple of months, but one player who has held up his part of the deal is Spanish international David Silva.

The former Valencia star has been one of the Premier League’s most outstanding players since trading La Liga for the Etihad Stadium, and this season has been no different.

Despite City claiming just 18 points in 2015, Silva has continued to produce startling displays – creating more chances than Arsenal’s Santi Cazorla, Chelsea’s Eden Hazard and Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho.

Eden Hazard 41 5 4 59 619 12 1,079
Philippe Coutinho 29 2 2 43 475 13 1,127
Santiago Cazorla 23 3 5 35 661 13 1,057

Since the turn of the year, the abovementioned have been by large the most creative players in top flight, and each has had a number of spectacular moments in recent months.

Chelsea winger Hazard has upped his game, scoring five goals and completing a league-high 59 take-ons as the Blues maintain their position at the top of the table.

Arsenal ace Cazorla is arguably in the form of his life, making the most assists in the league this year as the Gunners consolidate their top-four place with a stunning eight-game winning run.

Liverpool’s Brazilian playmaker Coutinho was the key behind the Reds’ huge improvement in form, prompting Arsenal legend Thierry Henry to single him out as the league’s most exciting player in The Sun.

However, as per the table provide by Opta Stats, Silva has outperformed them all as the City superstar continues to create more chances, complete more passes and add goals to his game.

The 29-year-old has been a wonderful addition to the Premier League in recent years, but this season his top form has been overshadowed by the Citizen’s awful run of form.

Silva has created a total of 46 chances, and if his side’s strikers were as clinical as the Gunners’ attacking quartet then he would surely have much more than just two assists to his name.
