Photo: Sunderland fans plan the ultimate humiliation for Newcastle on Sunday

Just when Newcastle fans thought things couldn't get any worse...

All is clearly not well at Newcastle United.

Their fans are planning a mass boycott of their Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday afternoon, their side are in terrible form, their manager has a woeful record at the club - and so on and so forth.

But just as Newcastle supporters thought things couldn't get any worse, Sunderland fans have got in on the act.

Indeed, while a potentially empty (or at least half or quarter-empty) St James' Park plays host to top-flight football this weekend, some Sunderland supporters are planning to fly a banner over the stadium brandishing the words 'five in a row.'

Clearly, the banner stands for the fact the Black Cats have beaten the Magpies in their last five Tyne-Wear derby meetings.

In terms of PR, then, Sunday could be a very bad day indeed for Newcastle if the Sunderland fans' plans do indeed go ahead.

The Black Cats have obviously been struggling themselves this term but, for some, that won't matter. Especially when it's the chance for Sunderland to get another one up on Newcastle.
