According to The Sun, Liverpool will attempt to sign Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech during this summer's transfer window - but only on loan.
The Reds weren't able to build on last season's title challenge and currently look like missing out on Champions League qualification, so manager Brendan Rodgers will certainly be keen to strengthen his squad again at the end of the season.
One of the recurring problems for Liverpool has been between the sticks, with goalkeeper Simon Mignolet enduring an up-and-down season which started poorly but has improved as the campaign has gone on.
Still, it would be little surprise to see Rodgers try and sign a more experienced goalkeeper to replace the Belgian, and The Sun believe that's exactly what he will do.
They report that Rodgers wants to sign Chelsea shot stopper Cech on a season-long loan deal for next term, with the Czech Republic international out of favour under Jose Mourinho this season.
The 32-year-old has been a Chelsea mainstay for around ten years since joining from Rennes in 2004, but the emergence of Thibaut Courtois means he has spent most of the season on the bench.
Cech may therefore want to move on and play first-team football next season, and moving to Anfield may well give him just that - though Liverpool pursuing him would certainly be a surprise.
Cech's experience could help Mignolet improve, but whether Mourinho would be willing to loan out a proven Premier League star like Cech to a direct rival remains to be seen.
