Nottingham Forest boss Dougie Freedman: The key to winning against Blackburn Rovers

Nottingham Forest will face Blackburn Rovers away from home in the Championship this afternoon.

Nottingham Forest manager Dougie Freedman has told the club’s official website that his side need to be defensively strong against Blackburn Rovers today.

Forest will take on Blackburn away from home at Ewood Park in the Championship this afternoon.

“They’re a typical Championship team - 442,” the Scot told Forest’s official website. “They’ll make it very difficult for us.

"There’ll be not a lot in the game. I feel if we can take care of their strike force we’ll be in with a very good chance of winning.”

Playing at home will give Blackburn an advantage, who also have one of the better strikers in the division in Jordan Rhodes.

The 25-year-old former Ipswich Town man has scored 18 goals and created 37 chances in 41 Championship appearances so far this season, while having a pass accuracy of 73% and a shot accuracy of 44%.

Blackburn have virtually nothing to play for as they are out of the running for the Championship playoffs, but one suspects that they will be determined to end the season on a high.

Forest have been struggling for positive results in recent weeks and have not won a single game in the Championship so far this month.

The Reds have lost their last two matches, and defensively the Nottingham-based outfit have looked vulnerable.
