The 31-year-old striker scored his first goal of the season in the Championship today when he found the target in the 40th minute.
Morison put Leeds in the lead at The Valley when he turned in Luke Murphy’s delivery from close range.
The Welshman played for the entire 90 minutes, and despite the defeat, Redfearn had positive words for him afterwards.
“It was a great finish and I am pleased for the lad because he has soldiered away when we needed him to,” Redfearn told LUTV.
“I thought the pair of them (Morison and Billy Sharp) combined quite well. We got good ball in the ball, and as a pair they did well.”
Charlton found the equaliser in the 75th minute when Tony Watt fired home with his right foot after connecting with a Johann Berg Gudmundsson pass.
Just four minutes later Leeds goalkeeper Stuart Taylor brought down Vetokele inside the Whites' penalty box, and Yoni Buyens made no mistake from 12 yards.
Leeds are currently 16th in the Championship table with 52 points from 44 matches. The West Yorkshire outfit are back in action next weekend, when they take on Sheffield Wednesday away from home.
