Michael Owen has predicted in his Colossusbets.com blog that Chelsea will win Saturday’s Premier League clash against Manchester United.
The former Liverpool and United striker expects Jose Mourinho’s side to get the better of the Red Devils by a one-goal margin at Stamford Bridge in London.
“I don’t know what it is about Mourinho’s sides but they have the priceless ability to nick three points when not playing well, and their 1-0 win at QPR on Sunday was the ultimate smash-and-grab win, securing the victory late on with what I believe was their only shot on target,” Owen wrote on Colossusbets.com.
“So I don’t doubt for one moment that Man Utd come here in by far the better form. But Chelsea’s home record speaks for itself, and I have to fancy a 2-1 or 1-0 Chelsea win, though Mourinho probably won’t chase the game late on if it is 1-1, so I will add in that score line, too.”
Could Michael Owen’s prediction come true?
Owen’s ‘initial’ prediction that Chelsea will win the game will be backed by many Premier League football fans.
While United are in a good run of form and are playing well too, the Blues are strong at home and winning at Stamford Bridge will be very tough for the Red Devils.
Even if Louis van Gaal’s side take the lead at the Bridge, Chelsea should not be written off until the final whistle.
However, a draw is very much within the reach of the Manchester outfit, who will head into the game high on confidence and aiming to make a late challenge for the Premier League title.
